چکیده
An analysis of the floristic composition, structure and diversity tree shrub strata was carried out at tropical deciduous forest El Picante hill, located in San José Tilapa, Puebla. Five transects (T1-T5) were along elevation range 1,055 to 1,095 m asl “point-centred quarter” sampling method used. A total 53 taxa belonging 47 genera 28 families recorded. The best-represented Fabaceae, Cactaceae, Asteraceae Burseraceae. main indicators those with highest importance value indexes (IVI), stratum Ceiba aesculifolia, Bursera morelensis B. aptera, while Lippia graveolens, Parthenium fruticosum Acaciella angustissima. T4 recorded richness, on other hand, T5 stood by presence greatest abundance trees shrubs. This study complements knowledge this ecosystem Tehuacán Valley, México.

The Composition and Social Organization of Mixed-species Flocks in a Tropical Deciduous Forest in Western Mexico’
I recorded the flocking propensity of birds within a tropical deciduous forest in western Mexico during the nonbreeding season, and determined the species composition of 57 mixed-species, canopy insectivore flocks. Each of 27 canopy insectivore species present on the study area was observed foraging in mixed-species flocks on at least half of the occasions that it was detected on bird surveys. ...

Tropical forests are highly productive, structurally complex, genetically rich renewable genetic resources (Roy et al., 2002). The tropical deforestation contributes to increase in atmospheric CO2 and other gases affecting the climate and biodiversity. Though such type of forests occupy less than 7% of the land surface, there have the higher distinction of harbouring 50% of all plant and animal...
متن کاملTree dispersion, abundance, and diversity in a tropical dry forest.
Patterns of tree abundance and dispersion in a tropical deciduous (dry) forest are summarized. The generalization that tropical trees have spaced adults did not hold. All species were either clumped or randomly dispersed, with rare species more clumped than common species. Breeding system was unrelated to species abundance or dispersion, but clumping was related to mode of seed dispersal. Juven...
متن کاملUse and management of mimosa species in the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Valley, a tropical semi-arid region in Mexico (Fabaceae-Mimosoideae).
We report on the use of 15 Mimosa species within the Tehucán-Cuicatlán Valley, south-central Mexico. Seven of these species are endemic to Mexico, and four species and one variety are endemic to the Valley. We reviewed historical, ethnobotanical and floristic manuscripts, and conducted field studies. Several herbaria were consulted, as well as the BADEPLAM data base. Field work in the Valley ha...
متن کاملMulti-species fruit and seed removal in a tropical deciduous forest in Mexico
We determined patterns of post-dispersal fruit and seed removal for 11 common native plants, as well as sunflower seeds (Helianthus annuus L.), within a tropical deciduous forest in Jalisco, Mexico. Removal values were high in Delonyx regia (Bojer) Raf. (90%), Crescentia alata Kunth. (87%), H. annus (81%), Pithecellobium dulces (Roxb.) Benth (81%), Albizia occidentalis Brandegee (80%), Coccolob...
